Mixer/Blender

 

Job Summary:

The Mixer/Blender is accountable for completing cooking operations within his/her area including looking for ways to improve the cooking operations through visual, hands-on applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares recipes in accordance with the production schedule, batch sheets and standard operating procedures
  • Ensures appropriate and timely records are kept including batch size, ingredient usage, product temperatures and traceability information
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Advises management of the cook status and problems (or potential problems) on a regular basis
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area while in production
  • Endures appropriate quantities are packaged and labeled appropriately for delivery to clients
  • Ensures pallets for shipment are prepared in accordance with the customer specifications for pallet configuration
  • Perform sanitation duties associated with the cooking operations including (but not limited to) kettles, utensils, floors, walls and platforms
  • Provide support for entire Production Department, learning other processes, filling in as needed for coverage during vacations or other personal/business demands
  • Work and communicate with management and other personnel to ensure adequate production and quality standards are met

    Requirements:

    • Communicate effectively in speaking, reading, writing and listening (bi-lingual a plus)
    • Proactive mind-set and flexibility are important as well as the ability to work under “just-in-time” pressure
    • Ability to work nights and days; adapting schedule to meet production demands
    • Ability to work well with all management and peers
    • Ability to work will with little supervision
    • Ability to work in a normal food manufacturing environment and the situations it may expose (temperature, noise, etc.)
    • Ability to perform operational/manufacturing functions in order to keep the process viable. Requires bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching
    • May be required, from time to time, to lift weight up to 60+ lbs.

      Education and Experience:

      • Minimum H.S. diploma or GED
      • Basic math skills with the ability to adjust formations as deemed necessary
      • Knowledge of food manufacturing industry preferred

        Working Conditions:

        Working conditions are normal for food manufacturing plant. Food Safety practices are followed and upheld to the full extent. Work will involve lifting of raw materials, finished cases of candies, or even bags of refuse. You will be required to wear safety glasses during sanitation. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle objects or things, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
